Congrats to Jackie Fairweather who was 1st female in the GC100km today in the amazing time of 7.48. Just awesome! She was 2nd outright and the winning male was only a few minutes in front of her.
Pretty good week of training for me this week, but as if on cue, this first week of winter has brought me a sore throat and runny nose. Ugh!

Great run! 4:41/k average is moving. Next thing she'll be taking on Martin over 48 hours.
Yep, Jackie is the ultimate competitor. I'm sure she'd have loved to have won outright (men and women) today and that striving for that spurred her on to such a great performance. She could take it up to Martin I reckon. What do you think?
Doesn't leave us mere mortal "participants" with much to achieve and feel great about does it? - except of course that we are still out there doing it and loving it for its own sake, regardless of how far down the podium list we finish.
Just get out there and have a go, that's the fun part, the hurt part is not doing it. Jackie's run is brilliant, weather not that good by reading the reports, a hill to climb. Can't wait to get back home and get serious about the next adventure. Two great results from Canberra runners recently, must be the right palce to live and train. See you soon.
