End of Year Running Wrap Up

Here we are at the end of 2009. Key features of my 2009 running year include:

Total kilometres for year: 5506kms.
Major Races: Hobart Marathon, 6ft Track 45km, Canberra Marathon, Great Ocean Road 45km, Gold Coast Marathon, Adelaide Marathon, Portland Marathon.
Other Significant Races: Sri Chinmoy 1/2 Marathon, Canberra Times 10km Fun Run, Orroral Valley 32km Mountain Race, Sri Chinmoy Triple Tri.
Training Highlights: 6ft Track Group training runs, running 50+km solo training runs with hydration pack on, exploring new places to train.
Other Runners' Impressive Runs: Jackie's Commonwealth 100km win in the UK, Pam's Coast to Kosci ~230+km win. (Two totally different running personalities and styles and yet two outstanding performances in their own right.) And Stephanie's debut 1/2 marathon at the Gold Coast. (It takes guts to start.)
Own Most Memorable Running Moments: 6ft Track finish line, magnificent Great Ocean Road 45km scenery, winning Hobart and Portland Marathons.

What's next? Plans for 2010? More of the same of course, including the Cradle Mt 82km run in early Feb. After that ..... more again. There's always more running/racing to do.

Happy New Year everyone!

Too right - there's always more running and racing to do. Bring on 2010!

You had a good year. Apart from the races, you thrashed 2Fs on mileage ;) Agree about Pam and Jackie. I'm hiring Pam to mow my grass ;)

Thanks for your words about Dad - you're so right about the memories. Happy New Year, and see you about the trails.
