Hope

There is hope in Qld now that the rain is easing and the flood levels are subsiding. My heartfelt thoughts are with all those facing the clean up and re-building.

On a much more micro and trivial level there is also hope for the would be 2011 Canberra Marathon Griffins. I received this brief email from the organisers tonight:

Thank-you for your email.

I can confirm that Fairfax Events are currently in discussions with the YMCA of Canberra Runners Club regarding the Griffin award programme offered previously by the ACT Cross Country Club.

We are working towards a resolution and will update you on any progress.

Kind regards,

Jane

Looks like there has been a change in the weather. Queensland can start rebuilding and you guys may still get recognition for your sporting achievements. It's nice to finish the week on a more positive note. :-)

Oh wow Liz - that all sounds so much more hopeful, on both counts. TY for that encouraging post. I have my fingers crossed. Did you go to the wedding??

Hi from Brisbane. Yes, we came to wedding. Glad we did. Lovely ceremony, fun reception. Bride and groom very happy - and relieved! Not much running for me this w'end. Lazy....

That's promising. Not much running from me either. Overdone with this humidity!
